Cream, flake or Neapolitan ice cream is a thing of the past. If you like experimenting with different flavors, you need to get to know Lumi Creamy, an ice cream shop with a focus on Brazilian flavors that surprises the public with its curious offerings. Basil? Bottle butter? Here, everything becomes ice cream!
And best of all: the place is close to Beco do Batman, one of the capital’s most iconic spots. What are you waiting for?
Lumi Creamy: Sucrose ice cream, popcorn and other surprises
It all started in 2020, when Fabrício Luminato (better known as Lumi) from Rio de Janeiro arrived in São Paulo to work in the bakery of a restaurant. There he was given the task of creating an ice cream to accompany the house cassava cake, and from this story came an unusual flavor: bottle butter. It was a hit!
From then on, Lumi continued to create super original flavors and, in 2022, began selling them on his own on the streets of São Paulo. His first “vendinha” was a Styrofoam box that soon evolved into a cart, and in October 2024, the ice cream maker from Rio opened his own store in Beco do Batman.
The great thing about Lumi Creamy is its creative and unusual flavors. Bottle butter, a pioneer, is still on the menu. As well as popcorn, Sucrillos, coriander, tortilla, cheese bread, pastries with sugar cane juice and everything else you can think of!
The house also offers more conventional flavors, but just as original and tasty. Cameroonized banana, strawberry and guava, for example, are some of the delicacies that are sure to win you over, even more so when paired with a delicious homemade cassava shell. The perfect summer plan, isn’t it?
