Amstel, the Dutch brewery, is celebrating another edition of King’s Day in São Paulo. The brand, which is part of the Heineken Group, will hold four days of free festivities, with live shows, samba circles and typical Dutch food. Plus lots of beer, of course!
The event will be a “Brazilianized version” of Holland’s most popular holiday, when thousands of people celebrate the life of the king. Here in São Paulo, the party will take place on the banks of the River Pinheiros and will have samba as its majesty, with a floating bar and much more. And entry is free, eh?
King’s Day: Amstel brings “Dutch carnival” to São Paulo
The Dutch celebrate King’s Day on April 27, the birthday of the monarch William Alexander. It’s a kind of “Dutch carnival”, as citizens take to the streets in orange costumes to celebrate for 24 hours.
Here in São Paulo, the celebration will last even longer. There will be two weekends of parties, on April 26 and 27 and then May 3 and 4, always from 3pm to 10pm.
There will be a floating bar on the Pinheiros River, with plenty of cold Amstel. The stage will have DJs and big names in music, such as Fundo de Quintal, Samba da Treze, Marcelo D2, as well as a surprise attraction on the last day. Remember to wear orange to get into the party mood!
How to take part?
King’s Day is free, but you have to get tickets to take part. Tickets for April have already sold out, but don’t worry. After all, there’ s still time to secure your place for the second weekend!
