The Central Zone of São Paulo has just welcomed Galpão Rosa, a mechanic’s workshop for women. The establishment, which has already become a hit with customers, offers “treats” such as a cafeteria and hair and make-up services, in addition to the traditional automotive service.
Spearheading the project is mechanic and entrepreneur Andreia Justos, better known on social media as the “Queen of Engines” or “Cambuci’s Mechanical Barbie”. According to her, the aim is to take care of both the car and the customer, who can relax while waiting for the main service to finish.
Meet Galpão Rosa, a new mechanic’s workshop for women
Located at Rua Dona Ana Neri, 1287, in Cambuci, Galpão Rosa aims to be a comfortable space for customers. In the comments on social media, many women support the initiative because, in addition to being able to “optimize time” with the additional services, they feel insecure in traditional workshops, predominantly male environments.
While waiting for the car service to finish, the client can have a snack at the Queens coffee shop, whose menu includes coffee, Italian soda, juices and snacks. Right next door, the beauty salon offers hair, nail and make-up services, and the experience is completed at the bazaar, with various items that she can take home.
Despite its focus on women, the Pink Shed is open to anyone who wants to get to know this innovative space.
About the “queen of motors”
The daughter of a mechanic, Andreia Justos got a taste for cars at a very young age, when she lived in her father’s workshop. It was there that she began to learn about the profession she would choose for life.
Despite growing up in this environment, her family didn’t approve when she announced that she wanted to become a mechanic. In addition, she was often challenged by other mechanics, who didn’t give much credence to her knowledge because it was still a very macho environment.
But Justos was not discouraged, and she currently runs Galpão Rosa, whose target audience is other women. The mechanic and businesswoman also publishes her day-to-day life online, showing her followers the routine of her automotive workshop. Often in the company of little Angelina, her 9-year-old daughter who has inherited her passion for mechanics and has become her “little helper”.
