Férias, the play
Anyone who thinks that love loses its fun over the years is mistaken. In this comedy by Jô Bilac, the protagonists “H” and “M” have been married for 25 years and are still going strong in their relationship, and in their sexuality too. When they win a cruise trip for their children, they use their “freedom” to love each other to the extreme, to the point of being caught by security and thrown off the ship.
Both are left on a Colombian beach. Then they meet a young backpacker couple who share their views on sex and pleasure by producing adult videos for the Internet. The encounter turns into a fierce dispute that ends up with the police, challenging them to adapt to the new reality.
Directed by Enrique Diaz and Débora Lamm, the show reflects on long-lasting relationships today; on children, companionship and sexuality in more experienced couples. Through comedy, he explores intimacy after a long time together, philosophizing about life and relationships.
The script was commissioned by Drica Moraes, who takes to the stage alongside her longtime friend Fabio Assunção. It will be the first comedy starring the actor in 10 years.
