Everything you need to know about the national rock icon before visiting the exhibition
A hit in the 1980s, Cazuza made a lasting impression on Brazilian music. He began his career as the lead singer of Barão Vermelho and also shone in his solo career, with unforgettable hits such as ‘Exagerado’ and ‘O Tempo Não Para’.
In 1987, he was diagnosed with HIV and, despite facing the prejudice of the time, became an important symbol in the fight against AIDS in Brazil. Cazuza died in 1990 at the age of 32, but his impact on music, art and social causes continues to reverberate to this day.
The Cazuza Exagerado exhibition features nine themed rooms that range from his life before fame, when he was still known only as Agenor or Caju, to the peak of his career. Visitors will be able to see intimate contents, such as clothes, personal objects, manuscripts and unpublished records of the artist.
