If you’re a pet guardian, you may have already had to take your pet for a different outing, such as to a restaurant. But have you ever imagined going to the movies with your pet? It may sound curious, but it’s already a reality at CineSystem, which holds pet-friendly movie sessions in São Paulo.
For the comfort of animals, the Pet sessions have adaptations such as 30% lower volume, softer air conditioning and different lights than usual. The aim is for humans to be able to enjoy the movie alongside their pets, either to avoid leaving them alone at home or to spend a different kind of time together.
“Good for dogs”: meet Cine Pets, São Paulo’s pet-friendly movie theater!
Cine Pets takes place once a month at the CineSystem chain, with locations in Morumbi Town, Bourbon São Paulo and Belas Artes Frei Caneca. For the time being, the sessions only welcome dogs, but the aim is to expand to other animals in the future. So if you want to go to the movies with your kitty, keep an eye out for updates!
During the movie, dogs can sit on their guardians’ laps or on the floor in front of them, to prevent them from hurting themselves in the seats. They are also entitled to special popcorn and diapers, to avoid any mess in the event of peeing.
Even so, the cinema recommends that owners walk their dog for 20 minutes before the screening so that it can relieve itself. In addition, if your dog is very active, this will help him get tired and sit more quietly during the movie.
How to take part?
The next Cine Pets session will be on Saturday, July 19, with a screening of “Superman”. The times are not yet available, but if you’re interested in taking part, be aware of some recommendations from CineSystem.
First of all, your dog should be sociable and well-behaved, so that he can cope well with the proximity of other pets. After all, nobody wants a fight during the movie! In addition, they must have their vaccinations up to date and be on a leash at all times.
If you have a large pet, it’s worth checking whether the mall you’ve chosen accepts large animals. It’s also important to bring a hygienic mat, water or food in a suitable container, but avoid feeding or giving them a drink before or during the session. Imagine if they feel like going to the toilet during the movie?
If this happens, pick up the poop or use the carpet to clean up the pee, and then notify a cinema or shopping mall employee. No mess left behind! This way, everyone can enjoy the movies in comfort, contributing to the success of this unprecedented pet-friendly experience in São Paulo.
