CultSP Pro will replace Oficinas Culturais
After almost forty years in operation, the renowned Oficinas Culturais program announced its end this March. The announcement sparked controversy, but soon afterwards the government announced that the program will not end completely, but will undergo a reformulation and be renamed CultSP Pro – Schools for Cultural Professionals and Entrepreneurs.
With the evolution, the program will focus on the creative industry. There will be courses ranging from 16 to 128 hours in the areas of Visual Arts, Audiovisual, Content Production, Music, Brazilian Gastronomy and more.
CultSP’s hub in the capital will be in the Oswald de Andrade building, one of the buildings that used to house the Oficinas Culturais, and is made up of the Arts Qualification Program: Dance and Theatre, as well as six thematic schools:
- School of Arts;
- School of Heritage and Equipment;
- School of Audiovisual, Games and Technologies;
- School of Content, Design and Visual Arts;
- School of Traditions and Creative Expressions;
- School of Innovation and Sustainability.
This first offering will provide 4,070 places, 65 courses, masterclasses, lectures, exhibitions and laboratories. But the idea is that this number will grow by 2025, with 250 classes and more options for different courses. To take part, candidates must be at least 16 years old and have completed elementary school.
