The starting gun has been fired for Comida di Buteco 2026, Brazil’s most anticipated contest! From April 10 to May 10, São Paulo transforms into an unmissable culinary destination, where the public helps choose the city’s best bar from among hundreds of participating establishments.
The 26th edition surprises by making vegetables the central theme for the creation of appetizers. This does not mean the festival will be exclusively vegan: although meat may be present, the challenge for chefs is to make plants the stars of the show.
In doing so, the contest tests the creativity of the chefs, who must transform simple ingredients into true delicacies. This year, participating bars are offering their creations for a fixed price of R$ 40.

Comida di Buteco 2026: help choose the best little bar in town
In this edition, Comida di Buteco brings together 151 bars in São Paulo— —spread across all areas of the city. Both classic establishments and new names are participating, and they must present innovative versions of appetizers.
In addition to sampling new recipes, the public plays a key role in the voting. Although the snack’s score carries the most weight, customers also evaluate the establishment’s cleanliness, service, and the temperature of the drinks.
The popular vote accounts for 50% of the total, while the other half is determined by technical judges who visit the bars anonymously.

The winner from São Paulo will advance to the next stage
After the first phase concludes, the Comida di Buteco champion in São Paulo will advance to the national final. At that point, a new panel of experts will select Brazil’s grand winner.
To participate, simply check the list of participating bars, plan your route, and order the competing dish. The tip is to start at Boteco do Andreotti, in Tatuapé, which secured first place in the regional competition for the 2025 edition.
