What can we expect from Luzes de Natal 2025?
This year’s edition kicked off on November 28 with the exciting ceremony of lighting the more than 10,000 LED lights, followed by a super festive parade with more than 200 participants. This officially marked the opening of the celebrations and set the tone for what visitors can expect: lots of music, fun, attractions for all ages and the whole city living Christmas to the full.
The entire program announced so far runs until December 31, with ambient sound in the central streets, numerous musical performances, meetings with Santa Claus at the bandstand in Praça da Matriz, enchanting Christmas parades and shows ranging from rock to chorinho, samba, jazz, big band and even special tributes. Praça da Matriz and Praça do Amanhã are the big meeting points, always bustling with artists, bands, choirs, parades, night markets and themed attractions to make everything even more special.
In addition to the concerts, the program also includes traditional events such as the arrival of Santa Claus, the Folia de Reis group, the Choir Meeting and performances by the Municipal Conservatory. On the last night of the year, the party takes on an extra sparkle with a DJ, lots of music and the Show da Virada led by the Sambeiros Group, which closes the year with energy at an all-time high.
