São Francisco Archaeological Site offers historical and environmental tourism, right in the Serra do Mar mountains
The site was discovered in 1991 and has since become an important heritage site in the state of São Paulo. This is because it houses original roads from the 19th century, a complex of slave quarters and other buildings from that period, as well as remains such as ovens, roof tiles and watercourses.
The archaeological site is located in the Serra do Mar State Park, offering a beautiful view of the preserved area. To get there, you need to make a trail of approximately 1h30, of moderate difficulty. The presence of an accredited guide is mandatory.
Bookings will be available from July 2, with a limit of up to 15 people per tour. To make an appointment, simply call (12) 3892-2206 or e-mail cit.setur@saosebastiao.sp.gov.br.
