Do you know Acqua Safári? This new attraction at São Paulo Zoo has surprised visitors by promoting close and safe contact with the animals on site, especially birds and monkeys. It’s a boat trip on Lake São Francisco!
This experience is a perfect opportunity to observe the local fauna and learn about the animals, as environmental education has been taken into account in the Zoo’s navigation plan. In addition, one of the great stars of the adventure is the ‘white-faced spider monkey’, which is endemic to Brazil and is under threat of extinction.

What will you see in this attraction?
The highlight of the attraction is the animals, which can be seen from a reasonable distance. During the 10-minute ride in the middle of Lake São Francisco, visitors can see Primate Island, with five species of monkeys, and more than 14 species of birds!
In addition, environmental educators accompany the group throughout the tour, making the experience richer and more interesting. They share curiosities about the zoo, promote a moment of awareness in the participants and, above all, give very important information about the animals seen during the tour.

How to take part in Acqua Safári?
The new attraction at São Paulo Zoo is open from Monday to Friday, from 09:00 to 16:30, and on weekends and public holidays from 09:00 to 17:30. Tickets cost R$29.90 and can be purchased directly from the zoo’s ticket office.
Talking about the means of transportation, the boats leave every 20 minutes and can hold up to 30 people. In addition, the boats are quiet, stable, comfortable and sail at speeds of up to 5km/h. In other words, it’s a super fun activity and there’s nothing to be afraid of!
