Did you know that July 10th is Pizza Day? The date came into being in 1985, after a cultural competition run by the São Paulo Tourism Office to choose the best pizza in the state. This year, to celebrate the date, pizzaiolos from São Paulo will perform an unprecedented feat: baking a 20-meter-long pizza with 200 kilos of toppings!
The feat will take place at the 12th ExpoPizzaria, the largest national trade fair dedicated to the world of pizzas. The event will take place on July 10 and 11 in the Anhembi District (Avenida Olavo Fontoura, 1209). Check it out:
Theme fair will have 20-meter-long pizza!
Every year, ExpoPizzaria brings together professionals and entrepreneurs from the pizzeria sector. At the event, the public can see exhibitions, talks and workshops on this market.
One of the most eagerly awaited moments this year will be the giant pizza. At 20 meters long, it will carry approximately 700 kg of ingredients: 80 kg of mozzarella cheese, 500 kg of wheat flour, 50 liters of tomato sauce and 50 kg of tomatoes. It’s huge!
The flavors of the day will be chocolate and marguerita. The former because it is famous in Brazil, and the latter in honor of the 150th anniversary of Italian immigration.
Unfortunately, as this is a closed event, this more-than-giant pizza will not be available to the general public. But if you have a pizzeria, want to set one up or are just enthusiastic about the market, you can go and try it out! Registration is now available at this link.
