“Em um espaço cultural que recebe o nome de Tomie Ohtake, pensar as diásporas asiáticas é uma tarefa inevitável“. É o que afirma Paulo Miyada, diretor artístico do Instituto que tem como foco a divulgação e pesquisa em arte contemporânea.
Até 26 de maio, a instituição recebe o programa ‘Diásporas Asiáticas’, que reúne três mostras individuais e coletivas com obras de mais de quinze artistas nipo, sino e coreano-brasileiros. A visitação ocorre de terça a domingo, das 11h às 19h. A entrada é gratuita. Fique por dentro!

No século 20, por decorrência de várias mudanças na sociedade, guerras e conflitos, povos do mundo inteiro imigraram para o Brasil — inclusive da Ásia. Destes, boa parte escolheu São Paulo como sua nova casa, devido ao grande potencial da região.
A coletiva ‘Diásporas Asiáticas’ visa dar luz a artistas desta diáspora, sejam nascidos na Ásia ou descendentes de imigrantes. São três exposições no total: ‘Chen Kong Fang: O Refúgio’, da artista coreano-brasileira e ‘Hee Sub Ahn: O Caminho’, do artista sino-brasileiro, ambas mostras individuais; e também ‘Tocar a Terra: Cerâmica contemporânea nipo-brasileira’, com os trabalhos de quinze artistas japoneses ou que tem a arte do Japão como influência.
‘Hee Sub Ahn – O caminho’
A mostra traz cinquenta anos dos trabalhos da artista, sobretudo aquelas que produziu em seguida à chegada no Brasil, nos anos 1980. Muitos das obras falam de suas lembranças sobre a Coreia, assim como de sua nova vida em São Paulo.
‘Chen Kong Fang – O refúgio’
O artista, que tem como marca registrada o pictorialismo, tem pela primeira vez suas obras expostas em um museu no Brasil. No projeto ‘Diásporas Asiáticas’, elas traçam uma narrativa sobre sua carreira no cenário artístico de São Paulo, no qual ele atuou por aproximadamente cinquenta anos.
‘Tocar a terra – cerâmica contemporânea nipo-brasileira’
Nesta parte da coletiva, a imigração do povo japonês vira tema a partir de obras de cerâmica. Com trabalhos de 15 artistas diferentes, os trabalhos são de autoria de artistas nipo-brasileiros ou de outras origens, mas que se inspiram na arte japonesa para o seu fazer artístico.
