After the success of the first editions, The Book Fair is back at Charles Miller Square! This year, from June 14 to 22, the free event will feature more than 150 exhibitors, including publishers and bookstores, as well as something new for the São Paulo public.
Among them is Espaço Rebentos, a brand new space dedicated entirely to children’s literature. Thus, the Book Fair is crowned with another edition for the whole family, with literature and fun for all ages!

The initiative comes from the Quatro Cinco Um Association, a non-profit organization that works to promote books in Brazil. It was inspired by traditional street fairs in cities like Lisbon and Madrid, where books are displayed in parks and squares open to the public.
In the 4th edition, more than 150 exhibitors – including publishers and bookshops – will take their production to the street. In addition, readers will be able to enjoy workshops, autograph sessions, distribution of classics, physical activity sessions and book exchanges. And that’s just the beginning, eh? There will be more than 250 events over nine days, all free of charge.
This year’s central theme will be the 40th anniversary of Brazil’s re-democratization, but the programme will also include debates on inequality, sustainability and Afro-Brazilian culture.
Marcelo Rubens Paiva: author of “Ainda Está Aqui” is present
Brazilian literature is one of the main focuses of the program. That’s why the confirmed authors include representatives from different regions of the country. For example, Marcelo Rubens Paiva, Amara Moira, Lázaro Ramos, Cidinha da Silva, Aline Bei and many others!
The list of foreign guests includes Afonso Cruz, Lídia Jorge, Alexandra Lucas Coelho and historian Fernando Rosas (Portuguese), Pedro Mairal (Argentinian), Lina Meruane (Chilean) and geographer Ruth Wilson Gilmore (USA).
