Science in a bar? That’s right! Pint of Science 2025 is taking place here between May 19th and 21st. To take part and discover the curiosities of the scientific world with the experts, all you have to do is arrive and pull up a chair. The event is free and promises to demystify and bring people closer to science so that they can see how it is part of our daily lives.

So, if even to make beer you need to understand fermentation, which is pure chemistry, it’s only fair to learn about science in a bar with a team of experts. After all, it’s something that’s part of our daily lives.

Science at the bar: topics covered at the event

The science promotion event, which takes place annually in 27 countries, will feature lectures by more than 50 Brazilian researchers and scientists. As a result, many topics will be discussed with the public. For example: health, epidemics, the environment, artificial intelligence, music, geology, physics and astrophysics. In addition, some confirmed topics are:

Racial inequality in science;

Mixing art and science;

Cannabidiol treatments;

Climate emergency;

Deforestation in the Amazon;

Climate justice.

Are you curious to learn more about science in the bar? Despite being presented by experts in the field, who sometimes give the impression of being serious and distant, the Pint of Science is super informal and relaxed. It’s even worth having a beer in the middle of the lectures.
