Cinema Week has been an initiative throughout Brazil since 2022 and offers a super discount on ticket prices. In its 2nd edition in 2025, from August 28 to September 3, the event has tickets at R$10 and a promotion on popcorn combos. After all, a movie just calls for a side dish, doesn’t it?
Cinema Week: screenings for just R$10!
The initiative of the National Federation of Film Exhibition Companies (FENEEC) is supported by the Brazilian Association of Film Exhibition Companies and Multiplex Operators (Abraplex). The idea came about in 2022 as a way of encouraging audiences to return to cinemas after two years away due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
Today, the festival continues as a way of thanking viewers for their support for the industry and also to encourage moviegoing in theaters to prevent their closure. After all, with the rise of streaming, a large part of the public has stopped consuming movies outside the home.
Which cinemas in São Paulo are taking part in the initiative?
Cinépolis, UCI Cinemas, Cinemark, Belas Artes and Cinesystem are some of the chains taking part in Cinema Week. The promotion is valid for all conventional screenings, for any movie and at any time, including weekends.
Previews and special cinemas, such as IMAX, are not part of the campaign. But don’t be sad: some chains offer lower prices for these categories too.
