If you’ve always dreamed of traveling back in time and experiencing the Middle Ages up close, this is your chance! That’s because, between March 21 and 23, Parque Ceret, in Anália Franco, is hosting Medieval Experience Brasil.
Considered the largest themed event of its kind in the country, the festival offers free admission and a program full of medieval combat, arqueria, historical fencing, typical gastronomy and much more. In other words, during the three days, the experience promises to transport visitors to a world of knights, witches and Viking warriors.
A journey through the Middle Ages at Medieval Experience Brasil
For those who have always dreamed of reliving the Middle Ages, the event offers authentic experiences, such as the Medieval Combat Tournament, which will feature internationally ranked fighters from Buhurt International.
In addition, the public will be able to venture into activities such as archery, axe throwing, historical fencing, musical shows, dance workshops and even medieval games for children.
Another highlight is the Viking Area, which will bring a faithful reconstruction of the life of these Scandinavian peoples, providing an unmissable cultural immersion.
Medieval cuisine and fun for all the family
The cuisine will also be a highlight of the event. After all, during the event, the public will be able to taste traditional dishes from Denmark, Russia, Germany, Lithuania, Poland, Turkey, France, the USA, Spain, Korea and Mexico. For example:
- Gravlax (Swedish smoked salmon);
- Blini (traditional Russian pancake);
- Æbleflæsk (cured pork belly fried with apples, garlic and sugar).
Visitors will also be able to try mead, the traditional Viking drink, as well as craft beers and Kvass, a non-alcoholic medieval soft drink.
The event also has a Medieval Kids Area, where children can take part in themed games, including board games , dice, outdoor games and role-playing. In other words, a unique opportunity for the little ones to have fun while learning about the Middle Ages.
Medieval combat tournament
Medieval Experience Brasil also promises a lot of excitement with the Medieval Combat Tournament, which is becoming increasingly popular in the country. According to Daniel Costa Felipe, a member of Buhurt International, the practice is growing every year, attracting new athletes and expanding throughout Brazil.
The fighters use historical weapons and armor from the 13th to 17th centuries, always respecting safety rules to avoid injuries. The weapons are blunt, without wires or spikes, and blows with jabs are forbidden.”
