Visit parks and nature reserves
The seasons aren’t as defined in Brazil as they are abroad, so we won’t necessarily have trees in earthy tones and carpets of dried leaves to admire during the fall. But how about taking some time out to visit nature anyway? To the north of the capital we have the Cantareira State Park, for example, the only urban forest in the city.
In the central region, you can take the day off to walk around Parque Trianon. The green area, which still stands in the middle of Avenida Paulista, is home to a number of exotic tree species and even works of art.
Take a cozy trip to the countryside
You can then take advantage of the season to visit the interior of São Paulo. One of the most popular is Campos do Jordão which, although very popular in winter, also has a milder climate during the fall months.
Another highlight is São Bento do Sapucaí, a city that has even been voted the most welcoming destination in Brazil!
Take a relaxing sauna bath
The weather isn’t freezing yet, but how about trying out a cozy sauna this autumn in São Paulo? As well as being relaxing, this type of steam bath is a great choice for relieving pain, reducing stress and helping to hydrate the skin. Check out our guide to saunas in this article!
Attend a play
For those looking for a cultural getaway, our tip is to check out the plays that are being performed in the capital. There are options for all tastes, with comedy, drama and musicals that are sure to thrill. Check out the ones on show in this article!
Experience an intimate candlelit evening
Another tip for enjoying the fall season in São Paulo are the intimate Candlelight Concerts, where an orchestra performs amidst a sublime sea of candles. This season will feature concerts paying homage to various musical genres, such as Rock Classics , Vivaldi, The Four Seasons, The Best of Jazz and Tribute to Tropicália, with hits by Caetano Veloso, Gilberto Gil and more!
Help choose the best boteco in São Paulo (and Brazil)
Finally, a delicious tip: soon we’ll be able to enjoy the 2025 Comida di Buteco season ! This fall, establishments all over São Paulo will be selling their snacks at fixed prices, competing for the title of best “buteco” in SP. Don’t miss the chance to taste these delights!
